Today, I called my mom to say hi and discovered (much to my surprise), she and my stepdad have been following my blog.
I think I can safely say this is probably the first blog she has read.
In addition, my dad, who is traveling from Arizona to Canada (currently in North Dakota) has been reading my blog too.
And I realized: this is a great way to prevent myself from feeling homesick.
So, thanks to all “my people” back home, whether you are family or a friend or a friend who is pretty much like family. By perusing my blog and leaving comments, you make me feel not so far away.
