My apartment is right above a hair salon. I’ve passed by their window a few times and noticed an ad for a ‘Brazilian Blowout.’ It’s a conditioning treatment for your hair that can help to smooth it out and straighten it (but without the harmful chemicals of a Japanese hair treatment, which I had been considering before).
I read up on it last night on their website and read some reviews. It sounds like an interesting idea. It does not permanently alter your hair (like the Japanese hair treatment) and it can still hold a curl if you use hot rollers.
I went into the salon this evening and talked to a stylist there about the treatment. She said I am a good candidate.
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the pricing in the salon differed by over $150 than the pricing on the Brazilian Blowout website. The stylist said that is because you could never get people to spend that much on their hair in Sheboygan! :)
So, I’m planning on having the treatment done in two weeks. I’ll be sure to post pictures of the before, during and after.
And with that, I’m off to bed. Goodnight!
JB = Your hair is beautiful just the way it is. I like it...
ReplyDeleteThanks Aunt Duddie. :) I'm looking for something that will make my hair easier to maintain... and might motivate me to stop drying it with the car air vents on my way to work.
ReplyDeleteShh... I'm trying to become high maintenance. :P
Hmm, maybe I should stop putting my hair in a ponytail and whacking it off and go for a real haircut.
ReplyDeletecheck your email - I think I sent you the flip.
I'm excited to see it! I had a dream last night that I tried to die my hair an auburn/brown color and it came out plum purple with streaks of pink. :) I've gotten pumpkin orange and green before, but never purple.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I tried to post a comment on one of your other blogs last night, and it wouldn't let me. I don't have the right accounts or something. Here, I just post under name/url, but that wasn't an option there. Suggestions?
Neva:
ReplyDeleteI hope that dream isn't of things to come! :)
Other blog - which one? Photography, Quotes, Geeky Tips, Poetry, Craft Stuff
Oh please! Joseph would have a COW if I died my hair dark. :) The blog was "A Little Busy Life." Hope you are having a low-stress day!
ReplyDeleteNeeves: I don't think I had open comments enabled for that site. (I just fixed it. Now you can comment on it.) It's just a place for me to share some of my crafty, cutesy ideas or random things that don't fit into any of my other blogs. I'm thinking you probably saw that post about cute kids stuff. Oh my gosh... And I'm totally taking advantage of your pregnancy to experiment with photography and other artsy stuff. :) I'm sure you don't mind.
ReplyDeleteActually, I do love that baby stuff, but I was going to comment on the Lindsey Ray song you posted. It was something like, "Oh my gosh, I love this. How have I never heard of her before!!!" Anyway, I'm super excited to be your guinea pig. The results are always spectacular, so how could I not be? :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Sorry I didn't call back last night. I was feeling really cruddy, and didn't want to chat while gagging. ;)
ReplyDeleteNeeves:
ReplyDeleteYeah, Lindsey Ray is *awesome*. If I ever get married someday, she has a song that I'd like to dance to. (Side note: After I said something like that in conversation, one of my new friends here said 'You'll never get married. You are too independent.' :( So, I'm working hard on being more dependent.)
:)
re: my voicemail. No worries. I'd prefer to not hear you puking in the background anyway. I'm telling you... when I get back - we are totally going to hang out in your new GIANT living room and talk about nothing for hours and hours. And then you will feel better. Or at least I'll be able to hold a bucket for you as we chat. :)
hugs.
Neva, can you drink ginger tea? Just some ginger in a cup of hot water with honey should help a little.
