Hi There.

Welcome to my blog documenting my temporary stay in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Please keep in mind that the target audience for this blog is my family and close friends. So, if you're wondering why I post pictures of food I have eaten or silly videos of me singing while driving, that's why.

Giro d’Grafton – Bike Race in Grafton, WI

I spent Saturday afternoon watching portions of a bike race in Grafton (about 30 mins away from Sheboygan). I met Don Kenner there (a photographer who happens to be the father of one of my coworkers in Seattle).

We watched the races from several vantage points. It’s amazing to see how so many people can move as one collective unit and remain totally focused on what they are doing, despite people yelling, music blaring and the hot weather.

I can’t believe how gorgeous the sky was. It almost looks fake!

Side note: These photos are straight out of my camera. I look forward to editing them when I get back to WA… and my laptop.

Below: The adult tricycle races were hysterical! People were pretty competitive. (I should have signed up… With my short legs, I would have been a shoo-in!)

Above (and video below): I met Christine or ‘Alice in Dairyland’ at the event. I learned a lot of neat facts about WI agriculture that you can hear about in the video below. Here’s a description of Christine’s roll from her Facebook page: “Christine Lindner is serving as the 63rd Alice in Dairyland. As Wisconsin’s agriculture ambassador, she is striving to educate audiences across Wisconsin about the importance of our state’s diverse agriculture industry in our daily lives.”

Above: I had never seen one of these stationary devices before. This guy just had his bike on these rollers and was riding in place. Pretty neat!

  1. I cannot believe they are actually riding children's trikes! They look just like Micah's bikes. I thought it would be adults on ridiculously large tricycles or something. That was awesome.
